Wolf Spider

Lycosidae

Description:

This spider was tucked right inside the leaves of one of cactus that grows in our garden, so I was not able to get a good shot. The spider was very quick when it moved but kept around the area of the web that can be seen at the bottom of the first picture, so I assume it is its web. The spider was about 5 to 6 cms from leg tip to leg tip, with the body about 2 cms across and 3.5 cms in length. The two front legs on the right side looked like they have been regrown as they had no markings on them and appeared a dark pink in colour. It also had very distinctive black bands on its legs and black marking on its body.
