Hoffmann's two-toed sloth

Choloepus hoffmanni

Description:

2-3 ft long tree dwelling animal with fur that is often stained green from algae that grows in it.

Habitat:

Seasonally dry tropical forest.

Notes:

This one was moving along a power line next to the road.

Albert, I haven't seen many in my time here. But I hear that they are quite common in some areas. Look forward to seeing your spotting from Costa Rica.
flyingfrogconcepts, this was the fastest I'd ever seen one move. I estimate it went about 50m in a matter of a few minutes. So for a sloth this is indeed an action shot. I imagine it didn't like being exposed so it was in a hurry to make it to the next tree.
