Description:

This 'megapodes' fowl is rather common scratching for insects in local parks and backyards. The feathered crest gives its head a prehistoric appearance. This makes me think it is a dinosaur which, actually it kind of is. These build incubator mounds in leaf litter (the scrubturkey is the only other bird in Australia to do so)
