Harmonia axyridis
Spiky black lady beetle larva with orange markings. The double-branched spines of the larva of this species are unique in North America, as is the orange and black pattern of this late instar (larval stage). I don't know what species the aphids are.
Aphid-infested pigweed under apple trees in an orchard.
This is the first lady beetle larva I ever saw, and it's a fond memory!
