(Female) Western Pondhawk

Description:

Female green dragonfly with blue eyes. This one had just mated and was quickly flying around and dipping its abdomen in the pond all over, ovipositing eggs. There's video of her doing this as well as the blue male flying around her to protect her.

Habitat:

Still water pond. Found in the western US
