This is a very large moth. It easily measures 5" across, maybe a little more. This one looks like it had a few bird strikes. We found this in the house this morning. Someone left an unscreened window open!

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica 5 weeks into the rainy season.
