This beautiful flower is part of the Lamiaceae family. Other species' of this plant can grow to 20-80 centimeters in height where as the ones in my garden are ground covering. They grow rapidly.


according to Wikipedia, It grows in a variety of habitats from open grassland to woodland, generally on moist, fertile soils at an altitude of 0–1,200 metres
