Sarcophyton trocheliophorum
This coral is also called Green Toadstool, Toadstool Mushroom Leather and Sarcophyton Coral. Their capitulum (or "head") can come in various shades of brown or green, with white or gold polyps. Their stalks are generally lighter in color, often white. As the coral grow older, they develop a folded appearance. They produce a toxin to stop other animals from colonizing their areas. They feed on plankton.
Found on rocky reefs, growing over intertidal areas, at depths of 10 to 30m. Widespread in the Indo-Pacific region.
