This one is a "first summer" male (as per my Sibley Guide to Birds). I guess that would make him a yearling, sort of. I don't think they use that term with birds. Not all of them have this coloration but some do. Next summer I he should be normal black with the red bars.

Maybe a juvenile red winged blackbird?

I just thought red winged blackbirds were all black. :-)

Though I couldn't find any good pictures online that look like yours, there is a picture in my Sibley Guide to Birds that looks just like him. :) (page. 513)
