Red Salamander

Pseudotriton ruber

Description:

My early Christmas present :) I've always wanted to see one of these guys, and on a recent trip some of my friends made it possible for me! Bright red body with black spots on the back and head. Beautiful little guys!

Habitat:

Found under rocks in a little spring on a hillside in a pine forest. Found 3 adults, and 5 or 6 larvae.

I do not have photos of them since they are fully aquatic, but you can Google photos of them. They are pretty similar to tadpoles
