Asiatic honey bee and ants

Description:

An Asiatic honey bee under attack by small unidentified ants with gold-colored abdomens.

Habitat:

Observed on a large taro leaf (Xanthosoma sagittifolium) in a large semi-urban yard & garden next to a disturbed patch of remnant lowland forest.

Notes:

The bee was alive but clearly dying.
