Cicada Skin

Description:

So this isn't an actual bug spotting, BUT my little man thought it was just as important to doc. Magicicada

Notes:

This was taken last year when we had the 13 year cicadas come out. THEY WERE EVERY WHERE! They were also extremely loud. We had several people call the police station because they thought home alarms were going off.

That's what I thought it should be too at first, but since this was one of the 13 year cicadas it's different species.

Columbia, MO had those cicadas last year as well. SO MANY OF THEM! Here is one that I spotted for Project Noah a year ago: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/632...

Hello! I have suggested a scientific ID for you, but since this is the cicada's skin, I am unable to ID this further. Maybe if you post this to www.bugguide.net, they could help further. Nice shot! :)

Absolutely. A perfectly valid spotting. You could add it to the "Signs of Wildlife" mission too. :-)
