A strange looking chrysalis about 15mm long with a larger attached cloud of white silk. Hanging under a timber deck.
Outer urban back yard.
Yet to research this one.... maybe butterfly species?

Certainly lepidopteran but since it is free, I would suggest a moth.
I hope you put it into a container to verify the outcome.
