Ring-Tailed Lemur

Lemur catta

Description:

These sun-loving creatures often spend their mornings sitting in a group on the ground, basking in the sun with their arms outstretched. Of all the large lemur species, ring-tailed lemurs spend the most time on the ground. They run well on all four limbs, with their tails held straight up. They are also equally adapt at climbing trees. Like all other lemurs they are only found in Madagascar, where they are a big tourist draw.
