Description:

Sparrow sized bird. Male in breeding attire (portrayed here) is typically bright yellow, with a well defined black mask covering the face, but not the crown. ... ; and extending downwards forming a short bib. The edge of the crown touching the mask can be red-brown. Bright red eyes, black strong conical bill, and red-brown legs.

Habitat:

Widely distributed weaver throughout Southern Africa. Present in many various habitats - from savanna to urban settings. Here, observed in Mukuvisi woodlands, a protected savanna area in Harare, Zimbabwe.
