Christmas beetle

Anoplognathus sp.

Description:

Named because they often peak around Christmas time. Merry Christmas all. Christmas beetles are very highly polished rotund beetles and usually golden colored. Several species occur but I am not sure who this one is.

Habitat:

Found on Eucalyptus foliage.

Notes:

This beetle is deceased :( I do not recall the head being so green and suspect it is not its normal color.
