Eastern Garter Snake

Thamnophis sirtalis

Description:

12-15 inch young garter snake with beautiful markings (short video included)

Habitat:

4 1/2 feet high in some bushes at the edge of woodlands and lawn (Poconos, PA)

Notes:

Short video included - The snake was on top of pond netting that protected a Cecropia Moth Cocoon. If you look at the video, the snake gets away without getting tangled.

I haven't gotten a lot of snakes so I was glad for a video to go along with the photos. Thanks! It was a beautiful garter.
