Not sure what species this is, maybe green anole? I also noticed a crest behind the head.

From what I can gather, the only Anoles in Louisiana are the Carolina and the Brown Anole. This certainly doesn't appear to be a Brown Anole. I don't suppose they hybridize, do they?

Don't think it's a Cuban anole Livan, Cubans are a lot larger than the green anole and the climate of this part of louisiana isn't tropical like Miami , so I don't think they would survive here like they do in Florida.

That's what I was thinking too Lisa, maybe another subspecies? Has anyone else seen a crest like that?

Don't believe this is A. carolinensis. I have never seen A. carolinensis with a crest like that.

The Cuban Green Anole has not been introduced into LA.

I have a feeling this is a Cuban Green Anole (Anolis porcatus) and not the native green (Anolis carolinensis) Besides the Green Anole there are some other green introduced non-natives here in FL (I'm guessing LA too) See here it seems the best way to tell them apart is the dewlap color. check them out here in this site (but check out the cuban green in particular):
