I've never seen one of these guys around here. I'm hoping I'm right that this is a green heron which is funny to me because there isn't any green apparent on him.

Thanks! I think the first picture, with his neck all stretched out, is pretty cool with the angle and all.
Nice series! In certain light their feathers have a green tint to them.
