Notes:

After I had seen a note about this snake that was saying "rare to see" I have almost step on it. Was a cold day so I guess that's why I was able to get a couple of very nice shot.

Thanks Neil. I know that this is the only snake living on the Canadian Rockies and you can find it around Cave and Basil cause the hot sulfur spring that keeps the ground warmer than other places. Thanks for the info.

Hi Tommaso! The scientific name for this one is Thamnophis sirtalis. On cold days like you mentioned, snakes tend to be less active and easier to photograph. They rely on heat from their environment to provide them with energy for locomotion, shedding, digestion, hunting, etc.
