Description:

Shrub. Grows in open spaces at low elevations to mid elevations, usually in rocky soils. The flowers are aromatic. Native Americans used its hard, strong wood for a wide range of implements including: bows, arrows, and netting shuttles. Philadelphus is Greek for 'brotherly love'.
