Honey mushroom

Armillaria mellea

Description:

Large golden mushroom with white gills and membranous skirt around the stipe. The pics 3-4 are taken in situ and 1-2 were picked to photograph in better light, hence the differences in color.

Habitat:

Very damp shady forest gully.

Notes:

Thanks for your useful ID. Since it seems Armillaria mellea incorporates several species, its a more useful title (and I cannot find an image of Armillaria fellea).

It's a Armillaria sp. I'm sure about this, but I don't know the Australian specimens, if it would be in Europe I would say it's Armillaria Mellea. Could be that it's Armillaria Fellea... this grows in Australia and the name is almost the same. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armillaria_...
