Description:

Eastern Forktails are one of the first damselflies to emerge in the spring and have one of the longest flight periods, often into October. Eastern forktails are carnivorous feeding on flies, mosquitoes and other small insects.

Habitat:

Eastern North America - south to northern Florida. Wetland areas, well vegetated ponds.
