Thorny woody plant, purplish in color with black compound berries. Forms dense thickets.

Habitat:

North American Generalist species that grows in moist areas. Woodlands and edge habitat it is most commonly present.

Notes:

This species will sow its self in and out of the ground growing with vines over ten feet long.
