Open areas, old fields with tall grass.

Notes:

Happy to see this female because I mostly see the Silver Argiope. It was also nice to see the egg sac (see pic 3) on the same web but off to the side and lower in the grass.

Thanks staccyh. I am curious about the green coloration on it as it looks almost identical to the picture in bugguide.com. Is the green on it a moss or fungi that grows on them, or does the spider "color" the silk for camouflage? Does anyone know? I know spiders can control many aspects of the silk they produce, can they control the color?
