Eastern Towhee

Pipilo erythrophthalmus

Description:

A mostly black bird with red brown sides and white belly. Long black tail with white tip. Short, stout, pointed bill and rich red eyes. White patches flash in flight.

Habitat:

This Eastern towhee was spotted in the bushes at the R Shaefer Heard Campground in West Point, Georgia. It was just singing away.
