This was a nesting colony of about 200 adults. Unfortunately the Laughing Gulls were grabbing the chicks & swallowing them whole...I wonder how many will manage to fledge?

Yes, scrapes are the most basic of nests...
It was an awesome experience although it was hard to watch the chicks being taken by the gulls...such is life...
the baby seems to be going "ouch, ouch" !
This is called a scrape nest; great spotting.
very nice birds! and so cute chicks..I belive, it was very good experience observe this colony..
