Parasteatoda sp.
size ~15 mm. makes small irregular web indoors. Positive identification is impossible, this looks like the most probable genus. Only 2 species of Parasteatoda are reported from India. Similarity with Enoplognatha thoracica and some species of genus Steatoda is also considerable.
For Steatoda, Parastastoda etc. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steatoda http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parasteatod... http://www.findaspider.org.au/find/spide... For E. thoracica see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enoplognath... http://www.welokee.nl/spiders/en/species...

thanks Leuba and Atul...
it is venomous indeed, i saw this one paralyze a moth 10 times its size in 2 sec, with 1 bite
Spot on Leuba ... indeed a Theridiid
possibly a Parasteatoda sp.
Looks venomous but attractive- probably very dead by this time ! Looks like from the family Theridiidae. Nice one arnabroy.
