Acacia Horned Treehopper

Sextius virescens

Description:

Attended by large red and black ants these little hoppers very very well camouflaged un the twigs of an Acacia mearnsii. Adults were about 10mm long.

Habitat:

Glenfern valley nature reserve. Open dry woodlands with grasses and accasional eucalyptus and acacia.
