Armadillidiidae

Description:

14 Legs (May vary by bug), 3 body segments, about 1/2 of an inch long, pill shaped, armored body, 2 sets of antennae (only on set is visible though),

Habitat:

Usually in wet and dark places such as under rocks, under logs, under flower pots, etc. Found in most regions of the world.

Notes:

Armadillidiidae carry the young in a pouch, with about 200 eggs per brood. The eggs hatch in 3 to 7 weeks, and the Armadillidiidae will live for about 2 years. They are nocturnal, these bugs also roll up into a ball when threatened. Some nicknames for the bug are Rolly Pollie, Potato Bug, Sow Bug, and Pill Bug.
