Fishing Spider

Dolomedes tenebrosus

Description:

This large spider was hanging out on the wall, immediately over the doorway entrance to one of the caves (inside). This species can be found in dry places as well as the typical areas near water.

Habitat:

Cave entrance (dark, damp area) within temperate forest. Mammoth Cave National Park, Kentucky.

This would make sense if there was a water source nearby.
