Description:

this pile of bones and shell on the side of the road was once a magnificent reptile! please give turtles a break! male snappers generally live in the same pond all their life but females often venture away from their home territory in search of sandy soil to lay their eggs. this turtle was probably carrying very precious cargo when it was killed

Habitat:

found on NY route 5 in Hamburg right next to Lake Erie
