These black skimmers were hanging out with the gulls. I love how the top of the bill is shorter than the bottom. This is what allows them to "skim" food off the top of the water.

Thanks Tom! They seemed pretty relaxed with all the gulls around. Up until this point, the only skimmers I saw were flying, so I was quite happy to see these two.
Nice close-up shots! I haven't been able to get near the few I've seen so far.
