Banggai cardinalfish

Pterapogon kauderni

Description:

Banggai cardinalfish at the Tulsa Aquarium. These are a popular fish in the Aquarium trade and have captive bred in large numbers but over collection from the wild has made this species be listed as endangered.

Habitat:

These fish are related to the Bangghai Islands of Indonesia. Having such a small range surely doesn't help their wild numbers.
