False Black Widow (male)

Steatoda grossa

Description:

Brown, with long legs and conspicuous band-like markings on its abdomen. Lives on my porch, where he's usually hiding in a crevice or corner. He's a good neighbor to have around.

Habitat:

Patio in an apartment complex; Mediterranean/semi-arid climate. I've been seeing him more often now that we're getting rain.
