A desert succulent with thick, fleshy leaves, each ending generally in a sharp point. Apparently it takes a mature plant between 15-20 years to produce a flower spike.
Found in the dry arid desert of Sedona, AZ above 3,000 ft.

Thanks Christy! I have heard them called century plants. Wasn't sure about the species though. I think there is the agave americanas and the agave sp. I rally don't know my plants well enough to figure out the specie. Was hoping the PN community could help me narrow it down!
Very neat Agave...I think this one is the century plant...they used to think it only flowered once every hundred years...that is not true, of course! ;-)
