Gray catbird

Description:

American robin sized. Dark gray body with black cap on top of head.

Habitat:

Seen moving in shrubs and low trees. Makes a sound similar to a cat's meow. Hence the name "catbird".

Darwinist, you could easily mistake this one for a California towhee ,if you look at the rufous under the tail.
Black cap on top would be the major distinguishing factor for me.
I am quite eager to see one and the video would be awesome!

this one had a mouth full of worms. :-) There were a few individuals in the area. I have more pictures but I can't seem to upload them from my tablet today. Going to try to get video of one tomorrow to show the "cat calls" they do.

Hard to catch them sometimes. Looks like he may be feeding babies or making a nest.
