ground leech

Description:

4cm long, dark brown, thin black vertical lines down body

Habitat:

montane rainforest

Notes:

While hiding out from the rain in Nam Nao National Park, I was a sitting duck for ground leeches. I had at least 4 on me and a few of them bite me. I had nothing on me to kill them either, like salt, lighter or insect spray. I could just pick them off and flick them as far away as I could.

I love all these comments! I think leeches can be attractive, in their own way.
