The Burgundy snail, Roman snail or Escargot, is a species of large, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial gastropod mollusk in the family Helicidae. It is distributed throughout southeastern and central Europe.

Habitat:

Forests, shrubland, open habitats, gardens, vineyards and especially along rivers.
