Elegant Crab Spider, male

Xysticus elegans

Description:

This is a Ground Crab Spider. They are most often found on the ground or near it. The male is darker with a sharper contrasting pattern than the female (who is lighter brown, see my previous post).

Habitat:

Forest in a county park (crawling on our tent).

Notes:

I am not sure what is on his body right near his legs on the right. It could have been a bit of dirt or something else. Later today I spotted another female of this species but I was unable to get any photos of her since I didn't have my camera with me. :(
