Thread-Waisted Wasp (with prey)

Ammophila

Description:

mostly all black including the eyes, needle thin waist with one orange spot. Just a tad over 1 inch long.

Habitat:

Was spotted next to my pond in North Florida

Notes:

When I first seen this wasp I thought it was carrying a tiny twig that fell from a tree. Upon closer inspection I noticed it wasn't a twig at all, but a caterpillar.
