Bandtail Puffer

Sphoeroides spengleri

seagrass beds and coral reefs, and mostly close to the bottom

I have not noticed them before in this location as I always see much larger and I guess more common Checkered Puffers here. However, today for some reason I only saw 1 Checkered and 4 individual Bandtails. 2 relatively larger ones were swimming along the sea grass in separate areas, but the 2 smallest seen seemed to be a couple as they kind of displayed to another and swam together. They are very well camouflaged for this environment; in the last photo I outlined the pair.
