Titan stick insect

Acrophylla titan

Description:

Titan stick insect - the longest stick insect in Australia. Quite colourful with very showy purple wings

Habitat:

Endemic to South east Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

Notes:

I believe this is a female Titan - found it hanging off the roof covered in spider silk. Managed to get it off the roof, remove the spider silk after which it thought I was a tree... Being walked all over by the longest stick insect in Aus. is defeinitely a highlight!!

It's gorgeous! I had a similar experience recently, even if I'm not sure mine was the same kind of stick insect.
