Description:

This caterpillar belongs to the family Papilionidae, and feeds on several species of Citrus, this of the photo was in a tangerine tree. When they feel threatened, they display a bifurcated Y-shaped organ called Osmeterium (which characterizes this family), which gives off an unpleasant odor. Esta lagarta pertence à família Papilionidae, e se alimenta em diversas espécies de Citrus, essa da foto estava num pé de tangerina. Quando se sentem ameaçadas, elas exibem um órgão bifurcado em forma de Y chamado de Osmeterium (o que caracteriza essa família), que exala um odor desagradável.
