Sometimes nature has some twists, and the predator has a nasty surprise. This small caterpillar was parasitised by some wasp or fly, and died when the larvae ecloded. The caterpillar's dead body attracted some ants that took the chance and ate the larvae too...

Yes, Juan, it was. At first I thought that that green mass was the caterpillar's guts coming out. When I noticed what it was, I was thrilled. Life is cheap in the woods...
