Cortinarius Mushroom

Cortinarius sp.

Description:

Cortinarius iodeoides or Cortinarius iodes. Purple mushroom that becomes paler as it grows. The stalk is also purple, though with some orange blotches much like the cap.

Habitat:

These were all found in the same area, an oak hammock near saw palmetto bushes at Brooker Creek Preserve

Probably it is Cortinarius iodes, known as the Spotted Cort or the Viscid Violet Cort. Not sure though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cortinarius...
