Atlantic Sea Nettle

Chyrysaora quinquecirrha

Description:

Translucent and white jellyfish with fairly long tentacles.

Habitat:

Connetquot River, Bayard Cutting Arboretum, Islip, New York. This is not far from Nicoll Bay and I believe the water is brackish.

Notes:

Due to the nature of the water these jellies looked like ghosts, appearing and disappearing just as quickly as they moved about.
