About 6-7 millimeters in body length, colored as shown.

Habitat:

This insect was eating sweet exudates from the leaves, stems, and buds of a common sunflower (Helianthus anuus) in a vast open field of degraded shortgrass prairie with yucca, prickly-pear cacti, and scattered elm trees.
