Indoors, suburban residential neighborhood in small town on western fringe of eastern deciduous forest.
This is an abundant, widespread "stored product pest" that feeds as a larva on all manner of dried animal matter: shed hair and skin flakes from people and pets, woolen goods, furs, silks, taxidermy mounts, insect collections....
