Paropsisterna hectica
A bright golden leaf beetle with red regions through the disc of the elytra along the margin and suture. There were several found including some green specimens P. hectica
Otway's NP. Anglesea heath-lands. Only found along the hilltops
These are similar to Paropsisterna hectica which are thought to be alpine species. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/114... They also look very similar to Paropsisterna aurea http://www.bowerbird.org.au/observations... https://www.flickr.com/photos/32977858@N...

This is likely to also be Paropsisterna hectica, based on comments by Chris Reid
As are the beetles :)
Thanks for the explanation, Mark and Martin. Australian seems to be a very colorful language.
Football? Handball? I cannot even explain to myself myself.
I note the omission of an explanation for 'footy' Martin. :)
As Australians, we sometimes think there is no other language.
Jumper, sweater, guernsey or pull-over must look like a funny words through other's eyes.
Sorry Sergio - camisola de futebol http://resources3.news.com.au/images/201...
Thank you Leuba
I think the Tassie one looks rusty.

I think the Victorian one looks splendid.
Anglesea is less than two hours :)
So beautiful, Martin. I love those australian beetles, they are so colorful. Too bad I don't speak australian, what is a footy jumper?
Thank you EnvUnlimited
Thank you Mark
The red marks on the footy colors apparently fade later in the season.
The Tassy one looks good too..
Wearing a South Australian footy jumper?
